It's not the most amazing architecture design thesis work ever done, what make it sound worse is that there are even arguments saying that the design itself doesn’t reach the standard of 5th year work. But my architecture design thesis journey has been started very different since the beginning. Different from my course mates who started with a determined typology building and a fixed project site, I have struggled for the entire year exploring solutions for my design thesis objective – create awareness about river issue in our country. I should be very proud that the intention was kept the entire process although the obstacles seem will never stop finding me, shadows of solution were so far beyond reached. New design scheme came up every month as experimental solution pushed by the tutors. It’s until the last 5 weeks before submission due date, the solution was finally came on hand. But compare to other of my friends have spend the entire year developing a single scheme, there is obvious contrast for the final work. Contrast not in term of quantities of work but in term of design development. Architecture is never fair to everyone; often it depends on one’s luck. It’s a merit for what has been able to be achieved in 5 weeks time.

Back to Normal Mode

I stop writing for my blog for quite few months because of the studio design thesis. Same problem as in last semester occured which blocks me from wanting to write much about my feelings. My reason was: I do not want my blog filled with anxieties and worries which might create more chaotic situation from people around me. I do not want people to have unnecessary worries about me. I do not want to turn my blog into sad place with people expressing their concerns everday. This will bother me. I always believe in that in order to turn yourself on to be positive, you must shut off the negative energy first. And it has proved that this trick work tremoudous well on me. I have passed my design thesis. Moreover, I am glad that it is all over that i can finally have a normal life again.
